If the headphone out works, then connect your monitors and try sending some signal to those. Test your headphone output with headphones you know work, playing something from your mac over the 2i2. If you're using a DAW, open its respective audio preferences/setup and select the interface as your audio device, and in a softsynth make sure you do the same.

Try uninstalling focusrite control, uninstalling your drivers and then just plugging it in.
I'm also not a mac person, but I seem to remember that macs do not require drivers for these sort of things since they're class compliant over USB 2.0, you just plug it in, select it as your device and it should just work. Before I go out and buy new cables I figure the odds of having two bad cables or two bad monitors are pretty low so it’s gotta be something I’m either missing or somethings F’ed with the 2i2.Īs far as I know, I don't believe the 2i2 uses focusrite control, that is only for the higher input/output interfaces like the 6i6 and up. I’ve read about 20 threads of other problems similar to mine looking for SOMETHING to try but I really am stumped with this.

I’m on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.12.6 and figure it may be just a conflict with the OS so I install Focusrite Control on my wife’s MacBook Pro running OS X 10.14.6 and still no sound. Fire up a soft synth and set output to Scarlett and no sound. Expand Sound, video and game controllers and then right click Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 to Update driver. I also updated the driver and it still won't work. I connected it back together and now the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 won't put out any sound. I disconnected all my equipment to make a move. the customer through the registration and setup of software and drivers. So I then connected my trs to xlr cables to my monitors and set my audio to use my Scarlett as input and output. This is either a Windows 10 problem or a driver problem (not specific to PT), but I thought I might direct the questions here anyway. But to go into more detail, I downloaded the free trial for Cubase Elements 8, and I bought the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface, and I’m using a MacBook Pro. Basically, there’s no sound coming from Cubase. Installed Focusrite Control software and I believe it did a firmware update. Hopefully you guys can help me with this problem. So yesterday I picked up the 3rd gen Scarlett 2i2 as well as a pair of Adam Audio T5V monitors.
